PC Users: How to find the MAC address associated with your network interface:

You are required to register your MAC address with BML IT before using BML network services. Please follow these instructions and email your wireless and ethernet MAC addresses to bml-ithelp@ucdavis.edu.

Note: These instructions are written for a PC running Windows XP Professional.

Step 1. Go to Start Menu Programs > Accessories > System Tools > select System Information

Step 2. Expand Components > Network > select Adapter

Look for Adaptor Type = Ethernet or WAN (wireless device)

Note your 12 digit MAC address for both your ethernet and wireless adapters.

Step 3. Send your MAC addresses to bml-ithelp@ucdavis.edu, indicating:

  • the specific MAC address for your ethernet adapter
  • the specific MAC address for your wireless adapter
  • your full name
  • your best estimate of how long you will be at BML
  • your machine platform (PC)
