Mac Users: How to find the MAC address associated with your network interface:
You are required to register your MAC address with BML IT before using BML network services. Please follow these instructions and email your airport and ethernet MAC addresses to bml-ithelp@ucdavis.edu.
These instructions are written for a Mac running OSX 10.5 /leopard, if you have an older O/S some of the screens may look slightly different, but the fundamental concepts are very similar.
Step 1. From the Apple Menu choose "About this Mac"

Step 2. At the following window choose "More Info"

Step 3. The next window is your "System Profile". From the left hand column choose "Network", then select "Airport" from the "Active Services" list.
You will see the MAC address listed for your airport interface in the bottom pane. Double click the Mac Address line and copy it to your clip board and paste it into an email message, please identify it as your Airport MAC address.
Note: If your Airport access is turned OFF the MAC address information will NOT appear in your system profile. Turn ON your airport and try steps 1-3 again.

Step 4. In the same window, select "Ethernet" from the "Active Services" list.
You will see the MAC address listed for your ethernet interface in the bottom pane. Double click the Mac Address line and copy it to your clip board and paste it into the same email message, please identify it as your Ethernet MAC address.

Step 5. Send your MAC addresses to bml-ithelp@ucdavis.edu, indicating:
- the specific MAC address for your ethernet adapter
- the specific MAC address for your Airport adapter
- your full name
- your best estimate of how long you will be at BML
- your machine platform (mac)
