BML Computer, Network and Audio Visual Resources

Networking: The Bodega Marine Laboratory functions as a virtual extension of the UC Davis campus network with full access to campus services. We provide broadband wired and wireless internet access both in and outside of BML enclave. We provide resident users with access to shared network resources including file servers and printers, automatic update and antivirus services. ***The installation of hubs, routers, wireless routers, and similar devices requires authorization from BML IT.***

Computer Laboratory: features a dozen PC's running W2K/WXP networked to the BML LAN and UCD WAN, a b&w duplexing laser printer and a duplexing color printer. The lab PC's are configured with our supported software. Zip Disk access and CD-RW's are provided.

Lecture and Presentation Services: The lecture hall features a high resolution LCD data projector that can support resolutions of up to 1024 x 768. There is a PC present for running data presentations. An audio visual panel features a high quality acoustic sound system, DVD player and VCR. Two slide projectors are available.

A portable data projector in a wheeled case is available for checkout and use off site. An additional portable data projector is available to service other rooms/classrooms as needed. BML's south wing lounge also has a built in data projector and dvd entertainment system with surround sound.
