Climate Change Research at BML

“Warming of the climate system is unequivocal....Most of the observed increase in globally-averaged temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic green house gas concentrations.”
  Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
Climate Change 2007 Synthesis Report

Science plays a crucial role in the future of our planet. As the earth’s ecosystems respond to changes in atmospheric gases, air and ocean temperatures, melting of snow and ice, and rising sea level, we need to understand and predict how these changes will affect humans and the earth’s resources on which we depend.

To address this new challenge, BML provides the following information, services, and programs:

Interdisciplinary Field-Based Research Teams National, State and Regional Climate Monitoring

Training Initiatives for the Next Generation: Research experiences are the hallmark of BML instructional programs, this link takes you to information about educational opportunities at BML.
